Payments and Medicare Rebate

Upon completion of your consultation, payment can be made via cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. In most cases, our reception staff will be able to process your Medicare claim immediately, eliminating the need for a separate claims process and ensuring a prompt Medicare rebate into your account.

In accordance with Medicare regulations, we are unable to accept the gap payment alone. For instance, if you are a concession patient, you will need to pay $65.00 for a standard consultation and will receive $41.40 immediately into your account, resulting in a gap fee of $23.60 to the practice for your GP visit.

Why are you charging a private fee?

For over 20 years, we have provided quality, fully bulk-billed medical care to the local community. The costs of running an accredited medical practice, such as ours, continue to rise, and Medicare rebates have not kept pace. In 2021, we made the difficult decision that offering fully bulk-billed service was no longer viable.

Medicare Safety Net

If you require regular medical care, you may face higher medical expenses. Medicare Safety Nets can reduce your out-of-pocket costs. When your medical expenses exceed a certain amount within a calendar year, you may qualify for additional Medicare benefits. The Safety Nets are calculated annually from January 1st to December 31st.

If you’re enrolled in Medicare, you’re eligible for Medicare Safety Nets. If you’re part of a family or couple you can combine your costs by registering as a family.
